Are you a disciple

Sadly a lot of people start off well in the Christian life but then lose their way. “What went wrong?” people ask.” Why did this person’s new found faith not carry on and develop?”.

The problem is that becoming a Christian is just the beginning of a process of being changed from the person you once were to the new person God wants you to be. This process is not passive but requires us to work with the Spirit of God to effect change.

Try these questions answering “true” or “false”:
1.       I understand what Jesus means when he says , (Luke 14:33 RSV) So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
2.       I consciously change my priorities to do things that please God rather than myself.
3.       I make loving people my priority rather than looking after my own interests.
4.       I plan my life around what builds God’s business rather than my business.
5.       I allocate my time and money to reflect God’s priorities rather than my personal interests.
6.       I am always looking for ways to build God’s business by helping others find out more about Jesus.
7.       I draw my securities from knowing Jesus rather than the things I own or have achieved.
If you got some “falses” chances are you are very honest and can ask the Lord to show you how to make progress.
